Reducing your wedding plan to a series of spreadsheets and percentages might not sound like a lot of fun, but for modern brides who don???t have a limitless budget at their disposal, wedding admin, or ???wedmin???, has become an integral part of the process.

Now, two new surveys have revealed to The Telegraph how much the average engaged couple is spending when it comes to wedding fashion in 2017, as well as details on exactly what they???re buying and from where.

The average UK bride is now spending 25% less on her wedding dress that she might have done last year - possibly affected by the launch of dozens of brilliant high street bridal collections this spring.??832 is the new average spend on a wedding dress, down from ??1,112 last year, according to a survey conducted by online retailer Lyst.

Lyst also notes a trend for brides choosing to spend more on ???statement shoes??? for their big day as a factor that has perhaps influenced the redistribution of budget, after discovering that 60% of brides now consider their wedding shoes to be as important as thedress.

According to wedding planning website Bridebook, the bride will spend a total of ??1,329 this year on her whole wedding outfit, when shoes, bags, veils and jewellery are all taken into consideration.

5% are nowalso choosing vintage or second hand dresses, as a possible cost-saving method, but Lyst says that the most-searched-for wedding dress brands for this year have been Amanda Wakeley, Alice Temperley, Needle and Thread, Self Portrait and Whistles, the latter havinglaunched a new affordable wedding dress collection last month.
