This week has been undoubtedly about one woman.Four days afterBeyonc??sent the internet into meltdown with the surprise release of her visual album, Lemonade, she kicked off her Formation world tour in Miami. She turned to Balmain, Dsquared2, Gucci and Roberto Cavalli for her on-stage wardrobe, which- as we have come to expect from aBeyonc??tour-includes anumber of bodysuits and a lot of sparkle. But the key change to her look for this tour, is the addition of Victorian lace sleeves and historicalsilhouettes, whichare also prominent throughout Lemonade.

DanandDeanCaten from Dsquared2created thedramatic oversized black hat and Victorian-stylelace body which she wears to open the show."Beyonc?? wanted to create a historical look, ???antebellum??? is how she called it," Dean and Dan Caten tell The Telegraph("antebellum" refers to the late 1700s and up to the 1860s in the American South)."Astory that could translate into the current climate. She wanted drama, structure and embellishment.Pieces that would be remembered as part of the Beyonc??journey for many years. Our FW16 Women???s show was inspired by the Victorian era, hence why we used elements from the show to create the look."

Her Dsquared2 hat is perhaps the most stand-out look of the entire tour, and they explain why it"s quite so big."On stage size, shape and silhouette is everything. They were huge; We only made one sample, 4 times bigger than our regular hat brim. Then they were reproduced by the costume team."The team spent months working on her two tour looks and 20 outfits for her dancers."Each piece is hand beaded, from corset, to caplet, to body, to gloves, to shoes, including the lace trims which were beaded to add dimension," the designers explain.

Of course one of the key considerations is that she is able to dance easily in all of the pieces."Beyonc?????s shows are very energetic and full of movement," the designers add."We had to keep this in mind when designing the looks so that her performance was not restricted in any way.The sleeves were attached only at the cup to give herfull movement and one zip up the back for the quick change.Every piece was custom made to her full body measurements allowing comfort and ease during her performance."

This isn"t the first time the designers have worked exclusively withBeyonc??.They created the leather military bodysuit, inspired by the Black Panther Movement, which she wore to perform "Formation" at this year"s Super Bowl.

InBeyonc??"s album Lemonade she wears dozens of looks, from printed Gucci suits to ruffled Roberto Cavalli dresses, but a central theme running through all of her looksisthe Victorian era.Marni Senofonte, the stylist behind Lemonade, explainedto Vogue,"We were going back and forth between the antebellum and Victorian era, and it was before the shows in February. It???s funny because it seems as if [the Victorian trend] is so highly influenced by the last shows. We were kind of laughing because, "Oh my gosh, we???ve been doing this since November!"But then I was saying, "All creatives are on some same wavelength I think.""
