Chrissy And John Reveal Baby Name

CHRISSY TEIGEN and John Legend have welcomed their first child, a daughter.Although the very open and honest couple had already shared that they were expecting a girl - as well as other details about their efforts to conceive through IVF - they had kept the name under wraps until now.

"She's here!Luna Simone Stephens, we are so in love with you!And sleepy.Very sleepy," the model joked alongside a picture of the newborn's weight - 6lb 11oz.Adding that their little girl had arrived on Thursday, the new father also tweeted:"We couldn't be happier!"

It's not known whether her name is the one that Teigen wanted but which Legend deemed "too Hollywood" or whether she compromised to arrive at Luna.The model sought support from president Obama to attempt to convince Legend to agree with her name choice, but never revealed what the name was.

Known for her lighthearted approach to social media, Teigen responded playfully to well wishers enquiring after the family, joking:"To everyone asking, John is healing perfectly.We are so happy and excited!I dunno what to tweet now.Does my twitter change?This is so awkward."

Teigen and Legend met on the set of his video for Stereo in 2007, in which she played his love interest, and have been together ever since.They married in 2013 and Teigen shared last year that they had been undergoing fertility treatment for some time.In October of last year, they announced that they were expecting their first child, shortly after revealing that they had chosen to have a daughter.
